Effects of different reflectors and diffusors with the same light source

This unique photographic overview gives you the opportunity to very quickly recognize the type of light effect that is best for your project. All shots were taken with the same camera settings in order to dramatize the effects. In practice one would naturally adjust the camera settings in order to avoid the over- or underexposures that result from the different reflection capabilities of the numerous materials.

Effects of the various reflectors and diffusors with horizontally and vertically changed positions

The following examples clearly show how the lighting of the subject and the resulting shadow effect can be adjusted using SUNBOUNCE reflectors. Compare the effect of different screens and how lighting and shadow change depending on the reflector’s angle and position. Discover for yourself finest nuances of light and shadow effects by comparing real portrait scenes at varying illuminations.

The examples shown are a small selection form the iPad app “Light Bouncing – light design with reflectors” by Dipl.-Des. Eib Eibelshäuser. The iPad app comprises over 50 screens with more than 260 photos that have been shot with the comprehensive SUNBOUNCE system.

Dipl.-Des. Eib Eibelshäuser is a photographer, image designer and lecturer for photography at the design department of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences with the focus on designing with light. Awarded with the German photo book prize in silver in the category photography textbooks for his book “Fotografische Lichtgestaltung”.
